Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about using IC Troo.
Account
How do I create an account?
Click Login / Join in the top navigation. Enter your email — if it isn't registered yet you'll be asked to pick a username and optionally fill in a phone number, Discord handle, and area of interest. We'll send a 6-digit code to your email to verify ownership, and that's it.
How do I log in?
Click Login / Join, enter your email, and we'll send a 6-digit code. Enter the code on the same page to log in. No password, no password reset — just your email and the code.
Can I update my profile details?
Yes. Go to your profile page (/member/your-username) and click Edit profile. You can update your phone number, Discord handle, and area of interest at any time. Your username and email cannot be changed after registration.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your profile, scroll to the bottom, and click Delete account. You'll see two options:
- Leave quietly — your articles, projects, and comments stay on the platform attributed to your username, but your email, phone, and Discord are erased immediately. Your username is permanently reserved so attribution stays intact.
- Delete everything — delete your own content first (articles, projects, comments), then return to this page to close the account. We don't auto-delete your work; you stay in control of what gets removed.
Both options happen instantly — no waiting, no emailing anyone.
If I delete my account, can I get my username back later?
No. Your username is permanently reserved when your account is deleted. This protects the attribution of any articles or projects you leave behind. Nobody else can register it either.
Can I request deletion of my personal data?
Yes, and you don't need to contact anyone to do it — just use the Delete account option in your profile. Choosing either deletion path immediately erases your email, phone, and Discord from our database. If you need help or have a specific data request, email admin@ictroo.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Projects
Can I delete a project I created?
Yes, as long as the project has no accepted team members or sponsors. If people have already joined, you need to transfer ownership to one of them first. Open the project's manage page, scroll to Transfer Ownership, pick a collaborator, and confirm. After that, you can delete your now-removed project or simply leave it under new ownership.
Why can't I delete a project that has members?
To protect collaborators who have invested time in the project. Deleting a project without notice would erase their contribution history. Transferring ownership keeps the project alive under new leadership. This rule is also in our Terms of Use.
What happens to my projects if I delete my account?
Projects with accepted members cannot be deleted (see above) — you must transfer them before your account is closed. Projects with no collaborators will remain on the platform attributed to your username after a Leave quietly deletion, or can be deleted by you manually before a Delete everything deletion.
Content
Can I delete an article or comment I posted?
Yes. On any article you authored, use the Delete button on the manage page. For comments, a delete button appears next to your own comments when you're logged in.
Who can see my profile information?
Your username and public content (articles, projects, comments) are visible to everyone. Your email is only visible to you when logged in. Phone and Discord are visible to logged-in members in a partially masked format.
